I have 3 cameras and all are over 500.00 in value one is actually 2999.99 but I want to be able to transfer it to my computer and edit so I can make profesional videos well low buget but still professiona. I have video express but when I use that when it goes to my computer it keeps the battery bar and everything on the video and that makes it not even youtube ready. I just want to be able to transfer from my camcorder to computer without firewire because I don't know how to use the firewire connection and I like the usb. 1 of my camcorders can't even use the video express so how will I just use the USB to transfer the videos. Thanks for any answers.

I have a firewire port installed in my mac. I am trying to find a camcorder that is compatible with both Final Cut Express HD and iMovie HD. It seems that some camcorders require Firewire, and some require Firewire Basic. What is the difference?

I recently bought a new video camera and to capture onto the computer I need to use the firewire cable. However, my laptop does not have a firewire plug. Do I need to buy a converter? A different kind of cable?
